Edward Twomey bought the Harrington butcher shop
in Clonakilty in 1976 and with it inherited the family's Black Pudding recipe. This recipe dates back to the 1880's
when Philip Harrington began trading at 16 Sovereign Street (now Pearse Street) Clonakilty. Edward Twomey built on the
tradition of the business and by 1983 Clonakilty Black Pudding was in such demand that it was necessary to build a separate
production plant. The business has continued to grow rapidly since then and new products have been added to the company's
range, such as Clonakilty White Pudding, Rashers and Ispini Low Fat Sausages.
At O'Kane Irish Foods we are proud to be associated with
the Clonakilty Food Company and indeed share many of the same traditions.
