The geographical location of the Ballygowan source in the South West
corner of the country is an important factor. The strong prevailing winds from the Atlantic ensure that the area is free of
pollution. High rainfall also plays an important role. The catchment area is totally free of industry and intensive farming.

According to Linda King Taylor of The Sunday Times,
the Ballygowan plant has " the finest bottling and in-house laboratory facilities of any bottled water company I have
seen in Europe. " Almost 80 million bottles of this iconic Irish brand are consumed
every year.
